Udvartanam

Ayurvedic (Indian) procedures at the ARPANA Ayurvedic Medical Center

Udvartanam is an energetic, dry Ayurvedic massage in which herbal powders are rubbed intensively onto the body, lasting approximately 30 minutes daily over the course of 14-28 days.

Udvartanam is one of the main tonifying and purifying procedures of Ayurvedic medicine. Besides purifying and nourishing the skin, this process improves metabolism, tonifies the muscles, and decreases fat layers. This procedure enlivens the skin, making it smooth, soft, and resilient. During the course of the Ayurvedic massage, keratinized skin cells are removed.

Lepam is applications of herbal paste. The procedure has a detoxifying effect. It is recommended in cases of cellulite, joint pain, and trauma. It enables the removal of edemas, particularly post-traumatic edemas.
